Our History

It all started with an question: "What if a band played music that the musicians were excited about instead of the standard dance band repertoire?". In 1989, Mark Siers, of the San Diego-based Siers Brother Band, assembled an all-star group of the finest musicians in town who wondered the same thing.

Initially, the band was to be an off-night "jam session" at a beach-side club, where local musicians could come and play music they enjoyed. However, the band's horn-infused funk and R&B sound delighted audiences so much that they went on to perform all over San Diego County and beyond!

Our Sound

The defining feature of the Soul Persuaders is its powerhouse horn section. Inspired by groups like Earth, Wind, and Fire, Chicago, and Tower of Power, the sound of The Soul Persuaders is not only musically challenging but makes you want to get up and dance!
